Christians Gone Natural
Proving that “Christian Thug” is not a contradiction but a redunduncy, two true believers attacked a university professor for his disagreeing with the ‘Intelligent Design’ scam.
- [Professor] Mirecki reported he was attacked around 6:40 a.m. in rural Douglas County south of Lawrence. Mirecki told the Journal-World he was driving to breakfast when he noticed the men tailgating him in a pickup truck.
“I just pulled over hoping they would pass, and then they pulled up real close behind,” he said. “They got out, and I made the mistake of getting out.”
He said the men beat him on the head, shoulders and back with their fists, and possibly a metal object.
[Sheriff Department spokeswomen] Wempe said Mirecki drove himself to the hospital after the attack.
Where were the Good Samaritans? Or, is that another Christian myth?
Andrew Stangl, president of the Society for Open Minded Atheists and Agnostics, a campus organization for which Mirecki is an advisor, said, “That absolutely shocked me because people don’t do that in a civilized society.
Of course, Christianity, which repudiates the real world, is not a force of civilization so there is not a contradiction when Christians attack.

Your standard of proof is pretty weak, if you think this proves anything about Christians. Has there never been an atheist or liberal who hurt another person? Did that tell you anything about the group as a whole? Does this, really?

Tom,
I concede that the post would be a failed syllogism; however, it was not intended to be one.
So please forgive me a rhetorical flourish, which happens to be true even though its proof was not spelled out.
If you prefer to be precise, then out of any other context, the story of two individuals motivated by Christianity to initiate force against a non-believer does provide real recent evidence that “Christian Thug is not a contradiction.
However, if you want to play word games, again out of any other context, I will admit that this event does not ‘prove‘ that “Christian Thug is a redundancy but it does ’demonstrate’ it.
Now, if you will look at the full context, Christianity demands obedience by faith against human reason. As Christianity is incompatible with reality, those that will not subordinate reason to faith are immune to sermonizing and other Christian rants. Therefore, to effectively evangelize the myth, true believers must resort to force; otherwise, rational people would simply ignore Christians, after of course laughing at them first.
Again, in context, Intelligent Design seeks to use government force to push irrational faith on innocent child who have been subjected to governmental compulsion.
These thugs only acted on that very Christian of premises when they resolved to initiate violence against an innocent.
Perhaps, President Bush can made a speech condemning these thugs for attempting to hijack another religion of peace. However, as these religions are about the peace of the grave, President Bush was wrong about Islam and those words would be wrong if applied to Christianity.
With benevolence,
Jim

“Proving that “Christian Thugâ€? is not a contradiction but a redunduncy…”
Funny. But, just so you know, this absurd story is already unraveling. Better to run for cover now, lest someone remember what a gullible bunch of idealogues you anti-Christian lefties are…
Christian thugs, indeed.

Mr. Hurtubise,
If this story is unraveling, I have not seen any reporting on it. I did see one skeptical opinion piece on WorldNetDaily that lacked any relevant contradicting facts specific to the incident. It is true that the report referred to problems in completely different cases, or gave general facts about the setting in general without specific references to this incident.
If this report by Mirecki turns out to be a fraud, I’ll denounce the false charges, but that will not take “Christian Thugs” off the hook. I will remind you that there were two religious terrorists on the FBI’s Most Wanted list on Sept. 11: bin Ladin and Eric Rudolph (Christian Identity Movement).
It is true that I am anti-Christian, as a consequence of Christianity being immoral by promoting self-sacrifice and renunciation of the real world.
As far as you calling me a leftist, from the grave Karl Mannheim would applaud your blind adherence to your ideology and ignoring plain facts before you face. If the political left and right had any objective meaning perhaps you might be able to apply that label to me; however, as these terms do not you must intend it as a smear just as the only claims against Mirecki’s report amount to skeptical smears.
